Season 1
Yukiko Makabe works at the #3 Special Investigation Team of the Metropolitan Police Department. She has excellent negotiation skills. Yukiko then attempts to negotiate with a hijacker on a bus, but something unexpected happens and her mission fails. Yukiko takes full responsibility and takes a transfer to a special interrogation team "Kintori". Her boss is Katsutoshi Kajiyama and Yukiko has had a difficult working relationship with him in the past. Her other coworkers include Susumu Hishimoto, Zenjiro Nakata and Haruo Koishikawa.

Taking the blame for a hostage negotiation gone bad, Yukiko Makabe faces hostile new colleagues when she is demoted to the interrogation room unit.

Sentenced to death for three gang-linked murders, Masami Sanada is interrogated when the location of the bodies conflicts with his testimony.

Yukiko starts her own investigation by going to collect Sanada's notes from Kano. But she soon finds that she's not the only one pursuing them.

With the body count rising and finding herself detained, Yukiko must finally bring to justice those responsible for the murder of her husband.
