In 1997 on board the Russian Space Station Mir a collision put a hole in the station and the vacuum of space bares down; another astronaut's first spacewalk becomes a nightmare when he and his partner have only the oxygen in their suits to survive.

A Space Shuttle crew discovers damage to protective tiles on the shuttle's underbelly that could kill them during re-entry in temperatures up to 3000 degrees.

A toxic ammonia leak endangers a crew; and a space walk goes wrong when an astronaut's helmet fills with water. Also: a cosmonaut is stranded in the wilderness after narrowly surviving re-entry.
