1989 - Ann Ming is distraught when her daughter Julie goes missing and pleads with the police to help find her.

Ann puts further pressure on the police to find out what happened to Julie before a suspect is charged and is subject to a jury's verdict.

Ann and Charlie try to rebuild their life together as a shock confession sees Ann launch a campaign that is thwarted by an 800-year-old law.

Ann takes on the British justice system in an attempt to repeal the double jeopardy law in a bid to finally see justice for her daughter Julie.
