College freshman Gao Ying arrives at Nanting Village a day early and checks into the dilapidated Great Qing Hotel. He experiences a series of terrifying supernatural events, including a "ghostly" greeting from the hotel owner, Guan Shu.

Gao Ying inadvertently breaks a 300-year-old seal while exploring the hotel, awakening Yin Ting, the Prince of Zhennan. In the chaos, Gao Ying accidentally swallows the "Tai Sui," a mysterious elixir that grants immortality.

After absorbing the Tai Sui, Gao Ying discovers he is now a "host." Yin Ting, who has spent centuries guarding the elixir, is forced to stay by Gao Ying's side to prevent the power from consuming him or falling into the wrong hands.

A mysterious group of shamanic practitioners arrives at the village to claim the Tai Sui. Yin Ting demonstrates his formidable martial and spiritual powers to protect Gao Ying, revealing the lethal nature of the world he has entered.

Gao Ying tries to balance his new supernatural life with his college orientation. However, he realizes that the university itself is built on ancient ley lines, and a "ghost student" starts following him.

A new villain, seeking to harvest the Tai Sui, sets a trap within the city's shopping district. Gao Ying learns that his own eyes can now see "transgressors" between the human and ghost realms.

Yin Ting begins training Gao Ying to control his spiritual energy to prevent his body from rotting.

While researching the history of the Prince of Zhennan, Gao Ying and his friend Da Vinci get trapped in a spatial distortion inside the university library created by a Shamanic ritual.

Flashbacks reveal Yin Ting's tragic past and his reasons for choosing a 300-year slumber. In the present, he must reinforce the seals around Nanting as they begin to weaken.

During a local festival, the village is overrun by spirits. Gao Ying must use his status as the Tai Sui host to draw the spirits away from the townspeople while Yin Ting battles an ancient rival.

A shocking betrayal within the group of allies leads to Gao Ying being captured by a descendant of the Qing royal family who wishes to use Tai Sui to resurrect the dynasty.

Yin Ting leads a rescue mission into the ancient tombs hidden beneath the Great Qing Hotel.

Under extreme duress, Gao Ying's Tai Sui powers fully manifest for the first time. He loses control, forcing Yin Ting to make a difficult choice between saving his friend or fulfilling his duty to destroy the elixir.

The villains begin the "Rite of Eternal Spring" to extract the Tai Sui. The battle shifts to a metaphysical plane where Gao Ying must face his own inner demons.
