Following on from December’s heartwarming Christmas special, Pete Wicks and his four-legged friends return for a new series at the Dogs Trust in Basildon.
The series follows dog-lover Pete as he again immerses himself in the emotional world of rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming puppies and dogs of all breeds from all over the UK, and the charitable work done that aims to improve dog welfare.

Pete helps rescue six Chihuahuas from the home of a hoarder and witnesses the emotional handover of a pregnant pug and her sister.

Pete meets Chow Chow Nugget who has a longer stay than planned, three-legged Tetley, and some Belgian Malinois puppies training to be service dogs.

Pete meets Keira, a dog on the brink of starvation, and gentle old Jack Russell Paige, whose owner had to make the heartbreaking decision to give her up after 15 years.

Pete helps rehabilitate a group of ex-racing greyhounds who have never experienced life beyond the racetrack.

Pete meets Staffy-Boxer Cross Crumble, who's been at the centre in Basildon for over three years, stuck without a foster or permanent home in sight.
