Builder Bryan Baeumler is finally living his dream of building a lakeside retreat, but before he can get started, he and his wife Sarah butt heads over location and design. Then, Bryan must come up with a plan to transport materials to his remote site.

Bryan finds himself injured at a critical stage in the build, but just when he's back on his feet, Bryan must leave Adam and Sarah in charge on site. Then, the project hits a major setback when Adam discovers that lumber is missing.

Bryan battles Mother Nature as he tries to finish the roof, while Rebecca and Sarah's relationship hits a breaking point. Then, the Baeumlers enlist the help of a friend to work on the deck, and Bryan and Sarah clash over the interior finishes.

Sarah's reluctance to build their cottage in the wilderness proves to be a valid concern as the wildlife gets too close for comfort. Then, Bryan and Sarah get heated in choosing a look for the fireplace, and Bryan struggles to tile the floor on schedule.
